Electronics Engineer and Capacitive Sensing Expert

I've spent 14 years in the consumer electronics industry (U.S.) and learned a lot of skills. I spent a lot of time working on capacitive sensing for consumer electronics. I'm currently between jobs and like to work on odd freelancer jobs. I have a wide range of interests and my experience is split pretty evenly across power, embedded, and analog. I've hired freelancers before for previous projects so I know how difficult it can be trying to find quality people that communicate well.

I designed this circuit to measure 7 capacitive sensors (wires) and transmit the data over the air using a BlueTooth Low Energy module. I designed the PCB in Eagle, ordered the boards, wrote C program for the 8-bit micro, and soldered the components all myself. The circuit will last almost 6 months on a single coin cell battery. This is a start-up project for me and several other cofounders. The start-up might take a while to get going which is why I need to freelance to get some extra cash. (-:

capacitive sense touch keying circuit for Morse code transmitters

Erik did a fantastic job designing a circuit for me and creating the code for it to operate. He was able to come up with effective solutions to the problems encountered. Erik is an excellent communicator. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

Smart lighting product for new home construction market. I focused on bluetooth mesh firmware development, including bootloaders and OTAU (Over-The-Air-Update) firmware design. I designed some of the PCBs in Altium designer. Then I moved into power electronics, EMC troubleshooting and FCC compliance, and finally reliability testing such as HALT/salt fog/humidity/transportation. I learned some about UL requirements as well.
