Margaret Gillan Ritchie is the news, web and social media editor for The Poultry Times and telecommutes part time as digital media content specialist for Big Spoon Agency in Richmond, Va. During her time at Big Spoon Agency, Ritchie has covered topics including tasty desserts by Red Eye Cookie Co., Southern hospitality provided by Mama J’s, Richmond Region Tourism’s OutRVA campaign and the true science behind coffee at the Lab at Alchemy Coffee. While she worked toward her Master of Science in Interactive Media, Ritchie honed her skills in creating content strategies for social media platforms, following Google Analytics, engaging audiences through social media platforms and creating websites through a mixture of HTML, Javascript, CSS and PHP. Ritchie received her Master of Science in Interactive Media from Quinnipiac University and her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, Print Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University.
