Ready to provide solutions to your issues.

I began with my first computer, a Timex Sinclair 1000 at age 9. I started to take an interest and was writing software in the BASIC programming language for that machine the same year. The next step up was inventory management, customer relationship management, and invoicing software for my father and his associates on a Tandy RadioShack model 4 at age 12. Ever since, I have written software both as a passion and hobby, but also as a way to earn a living. My first job in the industry was automating preliminary title investigation reporting for insurance companies with Pentium I computers running FoxPro for Acxiom, the largest data warehouse in the world. I was part of the team that took title insurance companies from microfiche to SQL Server and object oriented front ends at age 20. This progressed until I chose to accept a position as Chief Information Officer for Seattle Lab at age 24. I managed all marketing, accounting, and database activity for an internet software company. The experience afforded me a steep learning curve and the ability to grow personally and professionally. During my tenure there I was asked to speak at the Harvard Business School presenting technologies for the new millennium. I left Seattle for warmer climates and began work in Miami for a small startup named Geoscape. While there I replicated over a terabyte of MSSQL data and authored complex algorithms for radius searches against databases using spherical trigonometry incorporated into the queries. Curvature of the earth was accounted for. As a challenge I authored a complete document management application creating a paper to web in minutes solution simply for the challenge. After the work was complete I accepted a position with Experian, the largest credit reporting agency in the world. As a senior engineer in the anti-money laundering division I was able to absorb a great deal of knowledge with the United States Department of The Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control compliance laws as well as international banking procedures. The last position I held was for Credit Suisse Bank. I authored applications that allowed for the servicing of 2 billion in cash and 20 billion in insurance policies. I was the sole engineer on the project authoring both SQL back ends and ASP.NET front ends. I now reside in Seattle, WA. I enjoy the freedom of working wherever I travel to. I devote myself to a quality job, and always try to deliver the best solution for the money as a matter of personal pride. -Dan Vail
