There is an office pool for Football. The leader would collect all the spreadsheets filled in from the people playing. She would then manually create a spreadsheet consolidating the data and send it back out.

Now the spreadsheets automatically get populated with data validation to be sure all the team names are the same (i.e. Pittsburgh instead of Steelers). Then the spreadsheets are put into a single folder and a macro is run to consolidate the data. I had some extra time so I added neat features to the spreadsheet. It now allows you to track your progress. There is a dropdown box for each game that color codes and calculates everyone’s win count. It also shows who is in or tied for 1st 2nd and 3rd. As more and more games are added you can click a button that will show you every combination of wins and losses that is possible for you to be the big winner. See the video below for an example.

My place of employment creates basic PowerPoints from their textbooks. When I started working here I noticed they were pulling all the figures and tables out by hand. This would take a very long time as most their PowerPoints were 100-300 slides.

Now it takes less than a minute. I created a macro that parses through the Word document and pulls in and formats the figure name, resizes the figure to be either as wide or as tall as possible within the constraints set while keeping aspect ratio, and puts the page number the figure is found on in the notes column. A client had a list of 20,000 + parent/child relationships that went several levels deep. These relationships were in a single table that was extremely hard to interpret by a human because of the parent/child/child/child etc. relationships that exist. While other tools exist that may be better than an Excel solution exist the client wanted it in Excel. See below for an example. Data was changed and shortened for my demonstration.
