Davis is courteous, thorough, committed, talented & was exactly what I was looking for when I posted the job. I wanted the developer I hired to have a feel for who I was, what my goals were, so as a prerequisite to awarding him the project, I asked him to spend an hour where I interviewed him & where he was encouraged to ask questions which he patiently did while asking tons of thoughtful questions, the answers of which, he used to shape in his mind, what has now become my blog. I chose this route for two reasons, first, I had tried to work with other Freelancers and they were all too impatient to spend the time which I felt was critical so this also became my method for weeding out bidders that would not be adequately committed. Equally important, I wanted the developer to be able take what he learned about me from the interview, my goals & my vision and meld them with his vision so that he was able to more or less work autonomously. He set proper expectations and was careful to qualify me as a client just as much as I was qualifying him as a developer. He set clear expectations regarding what his bid would include & was honest and upfront in telling me that there might be other expenses depending on how the project evolved though he was careful to keep me on budget, while offering suggestions for future development, and ultimately provided more value per dollar than I could have ever imagined while exceeding all of my expectations. When problems arose, he solved them. When I requested multiple changes, he made them without complaint. Davis knew I was a complete novice, so he handled everything, starting with guiding me through selecting a theme, selecting the right images and positioning, continually made excellent design suggestions, added all necessary plugins such as Yoast, spam protection, Captcha, share features, Facebook messaging, Jetpack, Instagram, Twitter, Adsense. Plus, while he did not know much about the backend of Adsense necessary to get ads rolling, but he took the time to learn the backend of Adsense so I will soon be serving up ads. The finished product is fast, responsive, intuitive, SEO friendly, secure, feature rich and he followed the original job posting in being sure that I would be able to manage the blog after launch without help from outside sources. Finally, Davis speaks excellent fluent English, has terrific vision, strong technical skills, substantial design ability, & a thorough mastery of Wordpress. He is honest and fair and made no attempt to suggest he would do things that were outside of his bid, which is more than I can say for every other developer I tried to hire prior to Davis. I must have talked to 15 others & almost gave up when I happened across Davis SUPER late at night for him, despite the time after he had qualified me as being a real client & then he freely gave me the hour I requested never once trying to rush me along even though he had been up all night. Lastly, while this was a low budget startup project, I'm a small business owner of another million dollar per year revenue business & after this engagement, I would not hesitate to allow him to work on my income producing website which cost me 30,000 USD to develop, point being, you only permit the very best to work on a site of that scale and complexity, and I have no doubt Davis would be every bit as effective there as he has been on this much smaller scale project. He's destined to become Freelancers highest rated developers & I would recommend him without the slightest hesitation, in fact, it would be my honor to do so.
