Senior Software Developer

My Motto is "To make systems better". I'm Hernan, a programming expert. I have more than 12 years of experience with PHP and related web technologies, Python, Javascript, Bash programming, linux systems, and lot more, I have carried out a large number of projects, both for third parties (companies) and for myself. From 2016 to 2023 I worked on my own Startup, a performance marketing platform that I built myself from line 1 of code until it became a useful tool for online communities and mobile apps and had tens of thousands of subscribers. . Before this date (2016), working for my employer, I built OfferToro.com (now Torox.io) from scratch into a now multi-million dollar company. For this company I started working as the only programmer. Before this, in 2011 I also worked as Senior PHP Developer for Negotiations Experts, a company that provides negotiation training. I worked for them for 3 years. That is, from 2008 to 2023 I worked on many projects, always achieving the satisfaction of my employer, or my own compliance when it came to my own projects. I can do almost anything in an application, from improving and making the code more efficient, developing new features, fix hard to debug bugs due to my experience, designing database structures (Sql and NoSql), configuring production environments, i.e. http server, linux environments, caching system like Redis or Memcached, task automation using daemons or crons. I am very versatile in the integration and use of various technologies to achieve a specific goal. Honestly, I don't know where to start listing all the knowledge I have about programming, tools, security, APIs, third-party services, manipulation of large amounts of data, tuning applications such as web servers, applications and databases to achieve a very high performance in the application Im working on. I am an expert in distributed server architecture systems, I use HAProxy, load balancers, cache, tunning and many more resources to ensure that the application I work on can support large amounts of load and still respond quickly and effectively. When writing the code of an application I am always obsessed with how efficient it is in terms of resources for the hardware (although this seems trivial with the powerful servers that exist today), an application that is built negligently in this aspect, more Sooner or later it begins to have performance problems that are increasingly difficult to solve. Therefore, it is better to consider the efficiency of the code from the first moment. I created recommendation algos using traditional logic, not AI. I tend to use my own frameworks to develop apps, an application or setup of mine "was never hacked"!! I am very detail-oriented and I don't leave anything to chance, I tie up every loose end of the task at hand. I respect my employer a lot (for trusting me) and I repay him by doing the best I can, "without exception." I am a creative thinker, despite my inclination towards "hard" code and algorithms, I love to imagine viable solutions to specific problems that arise in the system. I am reliable, I can work alone for days without needing direction from my immediate boss, only by having a clear objective can I discern what needs to be done to achieve it. I communicate very well in English, although my mother tongue is Spanish. Thank you.
