Reviews from Flipkart/Amazon, tweets from Twitter and articles/posts from Google news were extracted and processed(cleansing, stop words,punctuation). Sentiment analysis was carried out using polarity of reviews/tweets and algorithms like TFIDF. Word Clouds and Polarity charts were created to visualize the Social media response for the product launch.

The recommendation engine responds to unstructured queries like ‘best pizza place in Hyderabad’ or ‘best dish at Paradise’. The response is in the form of a definite recommendation (high information content in question) or a ranked list of options (questions with low information content).

Sentiment analysis was done on reviews to figure out their polarity and score them based on their extent of polarity. Also, a classifier was built using naive bayes to classify reviews as positive or negatives. For determining relation between reviews and making a sense out of it word2vec was used on all reviews.

•Python: standard NLP packages, NLTK, Stanford Core NLP, Numpy
•Gensim: word2Vec model, Glove from Stanford.

Query based Recommendation System

My client wanted to figure out whether any action has taken place on the given 'Phrase'.

I designed and implemented an algorithm that extracts information from a document pertaining to a given Phrase-Action pair. The algorithm determines if there is any relation between Phrase and Action emulating basic English grammar rules. Stanford Dependency parsers are used to tokenize the statements and a set of CFG were written to figure out if the Action is acting on the Phrase in question. Also, sentiment analysis of each report/journal was done.
