My most recent work has involved independent contracts for proofreading, indexing, copyediting, entering data, transcribing, developing forms, and typing. I love words, puzzles, reading, and martial arts. Each of these contributes to my wordsmith experience, my hard driving work ethic, and the importance of each contract I tackle.
Until recently, most of my experience came from academics, both as a graduate student and then as a faculty member. Much of my work was collaborative, and all of it involved taking the project from conception to publication. As with everyone on the project, it was my responsibility to write, edit, proofread, and in the case of books, to index. I taught technical writing for three years at the university level, developed a test bank for a popular introductory psychology text book, and have written successful grant proposals, and non-profit organization start-up paperwork.
