Meet with prospective clients and discuss their dream house, take notes and create a design from their favourite style (ie. Modern west coast, prairie, craftsman, etc) house. After the initial design is approved by the client, I'd start on the working drawing sets. These sets are used for the building and construction process as well as obtaining building permits. I reviewed each drawing and would see it through from start to finish.
