I hired Otto even though his $625 bid was $250 above average, because I liked his work, he liked mine, and he said he could do it to spec in 30 days, crucial as I was on a relatively tight timeline and would be working with a brand new producer no matter who I chose. I figured it was worth the extra money just for peace of mind. What I received, late in the 30-day window and after scant communication (almost all of it initiated by me), wasn’t bad, but it was the wrong length and needed a lot of correction. It was about 70% of what it needed to be for me to be happy with the result. I still thought (and hoped!) that what Otto had done could work as a different version of the song. But I’d hired another producer to meet my deadline, and was no longer willing to pay Otto the $625 I’d contracted for “to spec within 30 days.” As soon as he realized this, he submitted a demand for the full fee, even though we both knew the project was not finished. After much unpleasant back-and-forth wherein he insisted Freelancer would honor his $625 demand, he apologized and agreed to complete the project for $375. I created and released a milestone payment of $175, thinking this would put us on an even keel. But despite his assurances that he would devote his time to my project, seven weeks of complete silence later I’d had enough and ended it. I still have nothing usable, but it’s worth $175 just to put this experience behind me. If this is the experience you want, Otto’s your guy.

Octavio is a great musician, understood my requirements perfectly and delivered 10 fantastic tracks.

The man is a genius, and a very good people, he got amazing skills, and a exceptional teste of art, its my honor to have him engaged in my project.
