Description
Experience Level: Expert
I require a Press release that summarises a recent court case that concerned an elderly gentleman who died of dementia and who was defrauded during the final period of his life.
The court case concerned the patient's substantial pension which he had wanted his daughter to inherit but which instead was claimed by an employee who claimed she was a financial dependent.
I am ideally seeking an experienced journalist who will have an understanding of the court system and may have written up court case summaries in the past. The text will mention mental capacity, financial dependency, pension benefit and fraud.
The family of the deceased were able to produce substantial evidence that the employee's claim was dishonest and that their late father had been coerced into signing various documents during the final period of his life concerning his pension and other assets that would benefit the employee after his death. These docs were signed when the patient was suffering with dementia.
Other documentary evidence submitted by the family included a copy of an email written by the employee to the patient's psychiatrist asking her to rewrite an earlier capacity letter leaving out details of the patient's serious mental illness. The letter was to be passed to the patient's bankers and advisers and was supposed to advice them that their client had been suffering with a mental illness for some time and had been making poor decisions.
Other evidence included a report by a specialist data recovery firm who identified a letter the patient had been coerced into signing but which had been back dated 8 months. The letter concerned a building project in which the claimant made a substantial loss.
The family believed the employee manufactured her financial dependency on the deceased during the final period when he died when only she and the deceased were aware of his illness. Other important evidence will be considered for inclusion in the press release.
The writer/journalist will be asked to sign an NDA beforehand. I have scripted an initial draft I would prefer them to be based in London as I will want to have a face to face meeting beforehand.
I have not uploaded any of the documents here due to their confidential nature. However all relevant documents will be made available.
I can pay either a lump sum for the project or agree an hourly rate subject to proof of relevant experience.
