Description
Experience Level: Expert
Goal:
To develop a Shopify Plug-in/App that will allow merchants on Shopify to have Live Shopping Experiences.
About BingeWave:
BingeWave is an API for building custom interactive live streaming solutions with ease. Our technology is easily embeddable on websites and mobile devices, and the developer can use our widget system to develop their own interactive features that go be placed directly into the live stream.
Requirements For the Shopify Plug-in
The features listed below are already available through our API. The developer WILL NOT be programming the feature’s functionality, but they will only be calling our API, retrieving JSON data, and turning the data into User Interface. The Admin and Frontend of the plug-in will function as such:
Admin
- Create a BingeWave account via Shopify Admin
- A shopify token should be passed to the API and stored in relation to the BingeWave account
- Enter payment for BingeWave’s subscription for using the platform
- A page that shows a list of the live shopping events. Should be separated into upcoming events and past events
- Schedule a live shopping event. These features should be present in both a create and update.
- Event will require a title and description
- Event can select a date, time and timezone
- Event can choose to be a public event open for anyone to register, or private event
- Event can have a cover image
- Event can be free events or require payments for tickets
- Event can choose the video layout for the for the attendees and for the host
- Event can choose what widgets/modules to include in the live stream
- Event data can be viewed
- Show people have obtained tickets/rsvped to the event
- If a free ticket, the ability to remove the RSVP
- If paid ticket, the ability to RSVP refund the ticket
- Show the products that were associated with the live event
Frontend
- Users can browse what are upcoming events. The events should have their own page
- Users can browse past events
- Events should have their own page with all the information about the event on that page, including the ability to RSVP
- Users can RSVP to events
- If they are logged into Shopify, we should be able to get their first name, last name and email address
- If they are not logged into Shopify, a form to capture their
- Events will have their own watch page. This page is separate from the event info page/rsvp page, and will be the actual page where they watch the live stream
- This page will have the player and chat
- This page will require the user to be logged-in
- In the Users account section, there should be a tab to see a users past events, aka Tickets bought
- When a user clicks into their Ticket, it should show information about ticket purchase and the event
- When a user clicks into their ticket, it should show information about the event, and the ability to go to the Watch page for the event.
What The Developer Will Be Doing and Not Doing
- The developer WILL be using Shopify’s best practices when implementing designs
- The developer WILL be design and implement an interface based on data received from the API
- The developer WILL NOT be doing any extensive programming and the core functionalities will be governed by the API.
