Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
This project involves the creation of georeferenced, digital maps (shapefiles with data-layers) using scanned images from historical atlases. Two key inputs will be provided: 1) scanned historical map image file; 2) shapefiles of geographic regions/countries with administrative boundaries. The consultant will use ArcGIS to scan and create new features (polygons, polylines and points) from the image files, preferably using automated tools in ArcGIS. We prefer to start with a single map as a test case before sharing the full portfolio of scanned image files to be digitalized.

Hi, how many maps are expected to be created? And can tools other than ArcGIS be used?
