Description
Experience Level: Expert
I require a PHP/WordPress developer who is able to retrieve data from an XML file and import this data into a custom post type in WordPress.
Currently, the website gets data from an XML feed and displays it directly on the website. The issue we have with this is every time someone calls the feed its downloading the content each time, this leads to very slow load times.
We want to get the data from the feed and import this into a WordPress based website into a custom post type called 'events'. All the data in the XML will also need to be mapped to custom fields generated by Advanced Custom Fields (date, image, ticket link). Each event may have multiple dates so the XML feed would also need to import the additional dates using advanced custom fields repeater field.
The data will need a cron to fetch the latest data from the XML. It will also need to check if an event (or date) has been removed from the feed and remove that from the website.
Thanks
