Description
Experience Level: Expert
A Javascript Developer with PHP experience wanted to join an awesome team of smart people in a growing startup.
VideoSuite is a software vendor focusing on delivering high quality digital marketing tools for small to medium-sized businesses. Over the last 3 years we've grown from a small startup to an experienced and highly profitable business.
But there's a problem ...
Our customers are crying out for more and more tools. They've got money to pay but we need more smart people to help us do it.
And that's where you come in.
Skills you absolutely must have -
- Solid development skills in Javascript. We're not just looking for people that can follow tutorials and piece things together. We want people that can actually code.
- Good skills and understanding of React (React-router etc), Vue.js (Vuex, Vue-router etc) ES6+, GraphQL and web pack . We don't expect you to know the ins and outs of every single technology involved but you mustn't freak out the moment you have to do something that isn't code.
- You need to have great communication skills. Don't worry, we're not talking about having perfect English but you will need to communicate with lots of different people in order to get the answers you need. If you can't explain yourself and understand what others tell you, please don't apply.
- Team work. This isn't the kind of company where you get given a job by someone from marketing and work it all by yourself. You'll be part of a team and need to take care of everything that goes along with that including proper source control (we use Git) and updating project management tools.
- Basic PHP and Laravel. We don't build PHP applications but you will need to be proficient enough to write / update and debug our API's.
Additionally, any experience with AWS infrastructure would be a huge advantage so please list any aws experience you have in the application.
Still with us?
Fantastic, let me take a moment to explain what we offer in return -
- A team full of smart people to work with and learn from.
- Interesting projects that will challenge your skills, not endlessly implementing the same CMS CRUD over and over.
- Freedom to get on with the job. We're not some giant company with dozens of people between you and a result. You'll be part of a small team that's trusted to get on and deliver great software.
- Reasonable deadlines agreed based on what is possible not set by someone from marketing who thought today would be a good day to flog the troops until dawn.
Let's be clear, what we're looking for here is a full-time developer to work within our team for a long period of time. Not a freelancer who is also working on several other projects or only looking for short-term projects.
Please DO NOT apply for this position if you're not able to commit to 40 hours a week working for us. We will also require all applicants to pass a VIDEO interview with a code assessment.
We understand some applicants are not comfortable on video but this is a requirement for this position as we will need to have regular video calls to discuss project requirements.
Sounds like what you're looking for? Great.
Please apply for this position stating that you have fully read the job spec and agree to a video interview. Please also state what parts of our requirements you are strongest on and which parts you are weakest on.
Any copy & paste applications not stating the information requested above will be rejected.
