At age 18 I spent a year in Ireland, after which I returned to the Netherlands to study International Communication & Management (English), with a specific focus on written journalism, marketing and social media. As an exchange student I spent a full semester studying Journalism & Publishing at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. I gained further international experience during University studies by spending a considerable amount of time in South Africa, Uganda and India. In 2011, I graduated with a thesis on Social Media & Non Profit Organizations. I developed a broader interest and never really pursued the depths of journalism, though I still hold a passion for writing. After holding a Sales & Marketing position for several years at ICL B.V. in the Netherlands, I decided to make a change in career and to explore my areas of interest a little deeper as a freelancer. Though I have done a lot of Dutch to English translation and proofreading assignments (general translation, website translation, blog translation etc), I am also very active with specific marketing tasks or all-round marketing management including: Design and maintenance of your website, SEO and SEO writing, social media management, light graphic designs for social media and website, newsletter design and content, project management and HR.
