Over 19 years hands-on development experience using Java, Oracle and MySQL in the Telecoms, Insurance and Energy sectors. My knowledge and experience in these fields has come from active involvement and management of all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle. My strongest technical disciplines are: Java, Oracle PL/SQL programming, SQL tuning, data loading and extraction (ETL), database/schema design and UNIX shell scripting using the Korn, Bourne and awk scripting languages. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills and am able to explain complicated concepts to all levels within an organisation on a techni cal and non-technical level. I have experience of leading teams of developers and support personnel as well as liaising with and managing the expectation of business users.
