A son, brother and a maker of things. I also invented the lyrics to Happy Birthday, and I play squash. I am an IT Consultant with broad experience in all aspects of technology and innovation, ranging from working on big multinational projects to running an early-stage startup. Recently, my work has been mostly on industrial applications of Big Data processes for Business Intelligence purposes, and implementation of data aggregation and processing using cutting edge technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra & Impala. Search, data mining, semantic knowledge extraction & NLP are topics that I have deep knowledge of, and ones that my research (applied & non-applied) has been centered on. I have led teams of up to 10 people on numerous occasions, which along with having lived and worked in four different countries and speaking multiple languages puts me in an unique position to ensure good communication and motivation, both intra and inter-team.
