I encourage rapid prototyping using 3D printers. My CAD package of choice is Siemens NX, however I am also experienced with Solidworks.

During my time as a braking department member at UOIT motorsports, I was tasked with the analysis of a brake caliper mount. The front brake caliper mount was to be optimized in the following manner: Factor of safety increased from 1.4 to at least 2.0 without significantly increasing mass at 2.3G vehicle deceleration. Using Solidworks FEA, I was able to achieve the following: Factor of safety increased to 2.01 from 1.4. Negligible mass change from 64.08 grams to just 66.22 grams.
