The ring uses spur gears, worm gears, and cams to move the diamonds on the ring in a novel, aesthetic manner. The shaft of the ring is inspired by a hex bolt. This ring was designed for a contest which specified the inspiration of the ring and the manufacturing limitations of the design. The CAD model was created in Onshape CAD software, and the rendering was done in Maxwell Studio.

Partial Weight Bearing Exercise Devise
We designed a device to bear a portion of the user’s body weight in order to allow them to exercise, in the form of walking or running, without incurring as much pain. Our engineering team was tasked with designing and prototyping a partial weight bearing apparatus for indoor or outdoor use to fill this need. The design was to be two-wheeled and aesthetically pleasing. We converted the requirements from the project's sponsor into engineering specifications along with their importance and effort rankings and came up with a final design. The design is unique, adjustable, lightweight, affordable, and adequately performs the requirement of partial body weight support. We then manufactured a prototype. After completion, we tested the prototype’s body weight support ability by measuring the ground reaction force from a person walking over a force plate both with and without the device.
