About

I'm an independent consultant focusing on web, desktop, and mobile programming. Whether you have an existing product that needs some attention or a new idea to develop, I'm happy to help!

I'm an independent consultant providing software and web consulting services as Strategic Code LLC, a one-man LLC. This includes GIS & map-based applications, mobile applications, general web development, general desktop software development, and server administration.

I received a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Utah State University in spring of 2005, and a master's degree in Geographic Information Science from Idaho State University in spring of 2007. I have over 15 years experience working with computers including various administration and programming activities on every major platform.

Specialties include: C, C++, PHP, CodeIgniter, BASH, Perl, JavaScript, jQuery, Linux & Linux Kernel, File Systems, Networking, Sendmail/Postfix/Exim, Apache, VB.NET, C#, MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQLite, PostGIS, SpatiaLite, MapServer, GeoServer, OpenLayers and Arduino.

Work Terms

I prefer open and honest communications. I bill only for hours worked (with minute granularity, thanks to time card software), so you can be assured you're getting what you're paying for. I invoice once per month, usually at the end of the month, and expect payment within one month of invoice receipt. I usually don't require up front payment for small projects, though I do request a deposit for first time clients if a project represents more than 20 hours of work.

E-mail is always the best way to communicate, but telephone meetings can be arranged anytime.
