I do and teach what I love, and I love what I teach and do.

I got my first computer back in 1982, which was a Commodore 128. I thought i was hot stuff because my dad only had the Commodore 64! 🙂 In 1987, I was one of a handful of students at my university who had a computer. Even when I became an 8th grade American Studies teacher in 1997, I was only one of another handful of teachers who used a computer in and for class. When I joined the U.S. Army at the age of 30 in 1999, and because I already had so much experience with computers and the Internet, they decided to make me a webmaster, and the first websites I created were completely hand-coded with HTML. After I left active duty service in 2006, I became a technology trainer in the Washington, DC, area, training others to use (X)HTML(1-5), CSS(1-3), Bootstrap, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP/MySQL, Adobe applications, like Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Muse and Photoshop, to design/develop websites for personal, business and government use. I also use WordPress extensively and teach WordPress classes. I use social media on a daily basis and also teach social media classes, which include "Social Media Overview" and "Marketing with Social Media." I was also a web design instructor at Northern Virginia Community College from February 2011 to March 2018, and briefly took on an adjunct instructor position at The Art Institute of Virginia Beach to teach web design, interface design and social media courses. These days, I'm doing my own thing with teaching/training all the things and more that I taught/trained when working with other companies/colleges. A little more about me... I'm a full-time freelancer, and I'm on the computer from about 5a EST to about 9p EST. Often, you will find me still working until midnight or beyond. If I'm not working with graphics, images and websites, I'm teaching others to work with one or all of these. I do and teach what I love, and I love what I teach and do. I've been a graphic/web designer/developer and image editor since 1999, starting the journey on as an active duty US Army soldier, and I've been working with and teaching web work classes since I left active duty in 2006. As it concerns WordPress, I have several of my own WordPress sites, and I maintain sites for a select number of clients. I've been working with and teaching WordPress since 2009. I've trained others to use WordPress in corporate environments and on the college level. I've even written a few articles about WordPress for the GoDaddy blog. I believe in sharing information, so if there's anything you want to know how to do yourself I'm happy to create video tutorials to show you how to do what you've hired me to do if you ever want to take on the task(s) yourself. I believe in empowering my clients, not holding them hostage. You can learn more about me at faydra.com and see work I have done at hlwes.com/past-projects. P.S. If you find me through Upwork, then we must keep all our transactions through Upwork. The links I provide for you to learn more about me and my past projects are for reference only, and they are not meant to circumvent Upwork's policy. I 100% believe in karma, so I put goodness and fairness out in the world, so I can get it back.
