Description:
Snakes are capable of movement in somehow any terrain condition. They can climb the tree, crawl in sand, mud and passing any obstacles. They can even swim in water. That’s why they are the subject of bioengineers to study the movement of this reptile. Snake-like robot is kind of robot that is inspired by the serpenoid movement of snake in nature. This structure is commonly used in arm robot and medical industry such as endoscopy.

My responsibilities:
- Modeling the modules of robot in CATIA
- Simulate the movement of robot in ADAMS software
- Manufacturing the robot

Snake-like robot

Description:
In IREQ, there was the problem of no connection between mechanical department and control department. We tried to develop a macro to convert CAD files from CATIA V6 to SimMechanics files respecting all the geometrical and inertial properties of the system. By this macro we expect any changes in CAD file will affect the dynamic model in SimMechanics. Obviously we save lots of time in modeling the system in SimMechanics. The macro was validated through a four bars parallel robot.

My responsibilities:
- Modeling robot in CATIA
- Generating SimMechanics file from CAD file using macro
- Derive dynamic equations of robot
- Design computed torque controller
- Design two types of ILC controllers
- Combine ILC with computed torque
- Validation of dynamic model by SimMechanics model
- Validation of macro
- Test and verify the controllers on a real model of robot using Beckhoff industrial PC.
