My name is Christopher Simmons, and I have a PhD in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from McGill University in Montréal, QC, Canada. I am an experienced meteorologist (weather forecaster for Europe and North America) and climate scientist. I am currently transitioning between jobs and am looking for freelance work to help make ends meet while I continue my climate change research on the side. I have written several articles and a book chapter (C.T. Simmons) on climate change and art history. As an editor, I have also worked as the administrative assistant and professional editor/proofreader for all official documents, articles, statements, and news releases issued by the President of the International Association for the Physical Sciences of the Ocean from 2008 to 2013. I also have strong computer skills in using Unix systems, Microsoft Office products and scripting (esp. in bash, Fortran and IDL). I can also translate text from French into fluid and professional English.
