Born Storyteller
What I am best at is telling stories -- dramatic, imaginative, informative, persuasive -- and assisting other writers in bringing forth the power of their own stories. As a SCRIPT WRITER, I have created short and feature-length dramatic and documentary works, as well as short scripts for public service, education, and promotions. Recent work includes an original dramatic screenplay, CURE, which scored an 8 on The Blacklist and was a 2019 quarterfinalist in the Screencraft Drama competition; a dramatic short, A PRAYER, for a New York actor; a dramatic feature screenplay (working title CLIPPED WINGS) for Front Row Productions; and the co-written treatment for a documentary feature, INDIGENOUS. My adapted screenplay, CRAWL SPACE, was a finalist for the 2015 New York Women in Film & Television Writer's Lab. My awards include an Emmy, a Codie, an Action for Children’s Television Award, a New York Film Festival Gold Medal, and Cine Golden Eagles, and a nomination for a Peabody Award.
As a STORY CONSULTANT, I have evaluated scripts for studios, contests, grants, and many independent writers and filmmakers. My consultees have sold or produced screenplays in the U.S., Canada, India, and Germany, screened at Cannes, Rotterdam, the Berlinale, Independent Film Week, Sundance, South by Southwest, CAAMFest, and the San Francisco International Film Festival, and won or placed in many prestigious competitions.
As a JOURNALIST, I have written film columns for SF360.ORG and Film Arts Magazine, and articles for the French edition of VOGUE. I wrote the treatment for a documentary, THE ODDEST COUPLE, for KCET public television, and have consulted on additional documentary projects, including the award-winning CHINESE COUPLETS and CITY OF BORDERS.
As a GRANT WRITER focused on education and the arts, I have landed $5,000-$400,000 grants for public schools, public television, arts organizations, individual artists, and healthcare. I have also written a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Work Terms
I am available to discuss and schedule your project 7 days/week. My average rate is $50/hour, but I often bid a flat project rate. I am happy to work with clients in all parts of the world via phone, email, and apps.
