I was responsible for taking over a project that was in the very early stages of development. It was an ASP.Net web application that allowed tutors and course organisers to log attendance against courses and sessions. It was deployed to intranets in order to keep personal information with the clients.

2013/5 - Courses and Sessions

Worked as part of a 10 person team to keep these two main sites stable. I emphasise that point as these are a very high revenue sites, and even the slightest downtime can lead to a significant loss of revenue. These were powered by our in-house CMS solution. Apart from these two main sites it powered roughly 20 others.

To aid in up time, the site was deployed to 16 Windows servers in total. 8 servers to handle live traffic that sat behind a load balancer, and 8 for DR (Data Recovery). Both sets in completely different locations. For any sudden issues that resulted in downtime, we were able to DNS flip to serve traffic out of the other DR location.

Deployments included careful planning and thorough testing. Planning often started weeks in advance.

Tasks included constant maintenance and improvements. Primarily used C#.ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS and MSSQL

2015/6 - Cottages and Hoseaons

I gained extensive experience in C#, NET Framework and SQL. I worked on an application that is multi-tiered and based on the MVC architecture. The application I worked on is a modular based one, which relies on a .NET framework extension known as CAB (Composite UI Application Block). This has given me exposure to CAB aspects such WorkItems, SmartParts and CAB events. I learnt the importance of this framework extension as it allows an application to consist of various independent modules, therefore allowing it to cater to a large dynamic client base.

2008/12 Asset Management

I created a site that was a 3D world in which advertisements could be displayed. Visitors could fly around this 3D world and the aim was them to find prizes. It was successfully built using 3js, but scrapped due to time constraints .

2012 - The world is online

This was a great challenge! This site needed to be developed very quickly - we needed to accept members withing a week or two. I developed the whole website on my own. It was fully responsive and built on the top of Laravel to help speed up development. It allowed make up artists to register and list all their chargeable services and skills, as well as their location. The idea was that clients would be able to find reputable make up artists near them. I designed the whole site and built the responsive grid. Because of this it was light weight and super fast and responsive on any device.

Jonathan was above his class from his first contact and superior performance to the end. A professional, a gentleman and even though we only communicated by chat and email, his wonderful personality came through which was also a huge plus. Not to mention, he went above and beyond to deliver a 100% successful project.
