Medical Writing

I have over 25 years of experience in healthcare, having worked in adult general medicine/surgery, pediatrics, hospice, oncology, and maternal/child health, lactation, and women's health. I served as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Kansas School of Nursing and The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, teaching undergraduate nursing students both in the lab setting as well as at various OB/GYN clinical locations in the Greater Kansas City Metro area and Greater Memphis Metro areas respectively. I spent several years working outside the U.S. in developing nations providing basic healthcare to local populations as well as training local healthcare providers. Most recently I have been working as a Nurse Practitioner within my specialty area of Women's Health. Within my clinic, I drafted a business proposal for creation of a lactation clinic within our OB/GYN practice, and by working side-by-side with our business office, was able to bring this proposal into reality and add a unique, necessary, financially profitable service to our office. During my graduate program I assisted a professor with research and writing of a thesis project focusing on the plight of incarcerated mothers both in the U.S. and around the world. I have written several articles in the past for various local publications in the Greater Kansas City Metro area, and currently serve as a contract writer of nursing certification practice examinations.
