Stock trading ledger website, keeping track of user's trades, displaying complicated statistics, and graphical info, like drawing the trades on the chart of the stock in question. While the design is admittedly dated by now (the site was build in 2003-2004, then some upgrades happened over the years but the design stayed) the functionality is fairly complex, with a lot of database design and optimization, Flash integration (for the "trades on stock chart" function), security considerations, some interesting CSS hackery (the slanted menu buttons.) A lot of effort went into automatic downloading of stock price data, and trade data from several different trading platform backends so that users have the most recent data available. Simulated stock trading application programmed almost entirely in Flash ActionScript (and a bit of HTML, CSS surrounding it.) The trading user interface was designed to resemble a specific trading platform. Special database handling, efficient storage, and AJAX retrieval was developed to load real stock data from 2008, the crisis year, into the simulator. Subscription form is integrated with MailChimp. Please note, the page starts to play music immediately when loaded, be prepared. (It was client request; the music can be switched off with the speaker button right away, by the way.) http://stock-trading-game.com/game/
